R3 Chafe Mooring Chain

 

R3 Chafe Mooring Chain refers to the chain that plays the role of connection and fixation between offshore facilities and seabed, which is used to ensure that the hull or floating platform stays at the required water level. Chafe chain is mainly used for offshore oil exploitation floating production system, semi submersible drilling platform, single point mooring structure, floating production and storage ship and other offshore development facilities.

 

Mooring chain is different from ordinary anchor chain. It is a chain used to fix offshore structural parts such as oil drilling platform. Due to its poor working environment, there are many requirements for this kind of chain, such as strength, stiffness, defect detection and so on. The mooring chain can be divided into three levels, three and a half levels, four levels, four and a half levels, five levels and six levels according to its strength level. The mooring chain must have qualified mechanical properties and service performance in marine environment. While the finished product heat treatment of mooring chain obtains strength, it must ensure its toughness, especially the toughness of flash weld area, so as to resist strong wind and waves and enhance safety and reliability.
